Phone and Learn (PaL) is a unique telephone based Jewish learning programme committed to fostering unity among Jews of all backgrounds. PaL matches Jews who want to know more about their heritage with a friendly, knowledgeable tutor for an hour a week of Jewish study and discussion over the phone.

As a partner – pick the topic that interests you most and we pair you up with an appropriate study partner. Prefer the mystical or the practical, philosophy or history, texts or basic skills? The choice is yours.

As a tutor – we welcome men and women of all ages to teach and you tell us which subjects you’re comfortable discussing. You don’t need any teaching experience – your Jewish education and yeshiva or seminary years qualify you.

Phone and Learn is dedicated to the lasting memory of Sammy Homburger z”l whose untimely passing in 2004 aged 41 left a huge void for his wife and family, and a major loss for the entire Jewish community who benefited from his wide-reaching educational activities.
